MEET THE FOUNDER
Hi, I’m Shantelle, and I’m so happy you’re here. I’m a Black and Filipino Northern California native, mom of three, and full-time freelancer in product development and sourcing. Creating products, building concepts, and bringing ideas to life for small businesses has always been my lane, so Little Steps Home feels like the most personal extension of that — combining culture, comfort, creativity, and the small things that help people feel more connected to themselves and the life they’re building.
After my mom passed away in 2019, my siblings and I moved across the country to the South. I found myself starting over in my 30s as a mom of three, feeling disconnected from the version of myself I used to know so well. What slowly brought me back was reconnecting with my late mother by bringing Filipino culture back into my home, creating rituals, reconnecting with people I love, and rebuilding an environment that felt like me again. Not one huge transformation, but small moments that reminded me who I was before survival mode became my default.
I’m excited to finally share the things that helped me reconnect with myself over the last few years. You can expect more plush collectibles rooted in culture, mini joys, stationery, journaling tools, rituals, and everyday pieces designed to help people reconnect with themselves while building a life that feels more aligned, intentional, and personal. Little Steps Home is being built from lived experience, and I hope some part of it helps other people reconnect with themselves too.
